There's one Chinese restaurant that is my family's favorite where we usually order our favorite lemon chicken. My daughter would love to cook and eat this Best Crispy Lemon Chicken for a change. Can't wait to try it myself.

Nothing great at all. The flavor was very bland. If I make it again I will add my usual spices. Sauce needed extra corn starch to thicken. Best served with rice, which absorbed the sauce making it better. I used whole eggs like any other egg wash.

This looks so good! I love chicken and it is nearly the only meat I eat. I am starting to run out of ideas for it and I was starting to get a bit bored of the stuff I was making with it but I will be trying this out, would be lovely with a salad for lunch as well or chips as a quick meal!

For me the only thing better than crispy chicken is chocolate, lol. And lemon and chicken are such a good flavor combination which, with the inclusion of ginger brown sugar, results in being totally lip smackingly delicious! It is also not terribly fussy to make which always make me very happy. This is an excellent recipe which is quite possibly going to become a family favorite in our home!

Lemon chicken is one of my favorite flavor combos! I'll have to try this recipe soon.

That lemon sauce looks so velvety! I can't wait to try this recipe.

I just made this and it is delicious!! I used a real lemon versus store bought juice and I thought it had a great lemon zing to it. I placed the chicken over jasmine rice and drizzled the sauce on top and it couldn't have been more perfect!!

the chicken and coating come out very nicely but the sauce is bland. I added some sesame oil, rice wine vinegar and sauted some fresh vegetables, served it over jasmine rice. much better

The recipe says "lightly beat together egg whites and flour." I SHOULD read "lightly beat together egg whites and water." This has not been corrected and makes a difference.

The sauce was watery. Directions in #3 state to lightly beat together the egg whites and flour. Did that. Then it says to mis the flour and cornmeal? Ok, figured it was the egg whites, flour and cornmeal. Did that. I could have used it for chaulking. Then, dip the egg white mixture, and then in the flour mixture to coat evenly. Now you tell me! Waste of time, energy and ingredients.

after actually eating this i must say it was GOOD i also threw the balance of the flour cornmeal from the plate into the oil butter after the chicken cooked and when i threw the lemon sauce it made it nice and thick someone said it wasn't lemony and mine surely was I used fresh squeezed lemon juice though and the zest from the entire lemon and as far as adding garlic salt and pepper there's no reason why you cant just add it - i add garlic to everything but i dont think this needed it but i did add pepper and dried parsley i thought it was salty enough b c of the stock and i never cook with salt but you could certainly add S P to MOST dishes even if it doesnt say you should i was very pleased with this i didnt really measure the flourRead More and cornmeal just mixed equal parts i thought it was excellent

i have this on the stove . just finished cooking ... i think the instructions need a bit of tweaking though ... #3 is a bit misleading .. i dipped the chicken in egg whites and water and THEN then the cornmeal and flour mix ... i added some butter to the oil to fry and also added some dried parsley to the lemon sauce .. smells good .. just #3 is not very clear unless you are supposed to put it ALL together i wasnt gonna try that though :)

The ingredients list says 1/2 cup flour, and yet both the sauce and what you dip the chicken into call for flour. Is one of these not supposed to have flour? Also, I noticed there is no salt, pepper or garlic in this recipe. And the only thing lemony about this chicken is the sauce you put on it. Why not marinate it in some lemon juice?

In step 3, it says flour twice.

I made this last night and it was horrible. The sauce was not edible. I double checked the recipe to make sure I had prepared it correctly and I did. It was bitter and just nasty.. The chicken part was bland because it was meant to be topped with the sauce. So that was blah too...wont make it again!

It would be so helpful for those on special diets if you would include the nutrition values.

I have noticed alot of the recipes on this site don't hav the correct ingrdients or measures for the recipes. This recipe sounds very good , but do you use cornmeal, cornstarch or corn flour? Questions dont seem to be answered. I have not made recipes from this site, because of reason.

I believe they mean cornstarch. ??

Where can I find "CORNFLOUR" ? Is it cornmeal, or just plain flour?
